Dissertation Abstract
The text analyzes the work of E.H. Gombrich in his central presentation, Art and Illusion: A Study in the Psychology of Pictorial Representation, in the light of the philosophy of Karl Popper. The result of the analysis is the location of many of the problematic aspects of the Gombrich thesis in the philosophy of Karl Popper, which Gombrich has applied in far reaching and significant ways to the study of art history and the psychology of perception.

I have been on all subsequent Handbook Tenure and Promotion Revision taskforces, as well as serving three years on the Academic Affairs Handbook Revision Committee. I served on the College of Liberal Arts tenure and promotion policy task force, which produced the service section of the college document, as well as chairing two committees (one in spring 2016) revising the service section of the document.
